Dear NHS Students and Families,
Due to the closure of Northumberland County Public Schools (NCPS), Northumberland High School (NHS) teachers have created educational learning opportunities for your student while he/she is at home. These educational resources are intended to sustain student learning while we are out of school. During the closure period all practices and athletic events will be postponed and/or cancelled. The Virginia High School League (VHSL) has cancelled all athletic games until March 30, 2020.
NHS teachers have prepared exam reviews for all students at all grade levels (9-12). The exam reviews have been handed out to students and/or have also been uploaded to Google Classroom and teacher homepages. The exam reviews will not be graded; however, we are encouraging students to use the exam reviews to study for approximately 30 minutes per day in preparation for exams. The anticipated exam schedule is as follows:
1st and 3rd Block Exams
2nd and 4th Block Exams
Please know that the exam schedule may change due to unknown variables related to Covid-19. The high school administration will keep you updated on changes to the exam schedule. Families will also receive updates as we know more information as to when school will reopen.
We look forward to the reopening of school and to returning to our regular schedule. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns at [email protected] or at (804) 580-5192.
Sincerely,
Travis Burns, Ed.D.
Principal
