Cadet Creed

Cadet Creed

I am an Army Junior ROTC Cadet.

I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school and the Corps of Cadets. I am loyal and patriotic.

I am the future of the United States of America.

I do not lie, cheat or steal and will always be accountable for my actions and deeds.

I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism. I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body.

I will seek the mantle of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and the American way of life.

May God grant me the strength to always live by this creed.

 Our Vision

MAJ Dameron and SFC Lemon, as JROTC instructors our goal is to re-enforce the values that are important for mental and physical development in our youth.  We teach Cadets the values that are common in the way we live our lives. These values are from the Seven Army Values: LDRSHIP; Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless-Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.

L oyalty - Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the community, school, your family, JROTC unit and other cadets.

D uty - Fulfill your obligations.

R espect - Treat people as they should be treated. The Golden Rule!

S elfless Service - Put the welfare of the nation, your unit, and your subordinates before your own.

H onor - Live up to all the values.

I ntegrity - Do what's right, legally and morally.

P ersonal Courage - Face fear, danger, or adversity physical or moral.

We also provide our cadets the opportunity to lead other cadets, and learn the importance of diversity. Cadets who are confident, focused and determined to excel are more active in classroom instruction, and their grades will improve in other classes.  The Army Instructors encourage all cadets to attend a post-secondary school; whether it's a four year university or vocational school. Contrary to belief we do not promote or encourage Cadets to join the military services. We are prohibited from doing this in accordance with our regulatory guidance.

If a cadet is interested in military service we will arrange a meeting with their selected service recruiter. The recruiter will contact the Cadet and their parents to arrange an interview.  The Army Instructors at Northumberland High School are committed to helping all of our cadets to be successful in life regardless of the path they take after high school.

In addition to or Drill Team, we are in the process of adding  a Rifle Marksmanship Team and a Raider Team which is a physical fitness team that competes against other JROTC programs
