As scholarship opportunities are made available to NHS, they will be advertised on Naviance for seniors, as well as posted on the school bulletin in PowerSchool. Naviance will offer lots of information regarding the scholarship opportunities, as well as proved the available hyperlinks to scholarship applications.
Scholarship applications will also be posted in the counseling office. Students should feel free to stop by to check the paper racks frequently for scholarship updates.
NHS COMMON SCHOLARSHIP:
This scholarship offers an opportunity for seniors to apply to several local scholarship programs by complete one application. It is now completed virtually via a google document! Seniors will receive an email with the scholarship document in early February. Completed NHS Common Scholarship applications will be due to the counseling office via email no later than Wednesday, March 2, 2022 by 3:30 pm.
Incomplete applications will NOT be submitted to scholarship organizations!
FAFSA: Federal Application for Student Aid (www.FAFSA.gov)
Be sure to complete your FAFSA as it provides you with federal opportunities to received funds to attend college. The FAFSA opens up on October 1st of each year! Often times your FAFSA information will open up lots of opportunities for additional funding from the college or university at which a student may attend. Complete your FAFSA by logging onto www.FAFSA.gov!
VTAG: (Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant)
Students who plan to attend a PRIVATE COLLEGE in the fall, be sure to fill out the VTAG (Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant) application! It is due no later than July 31 each year; however, the sooner the better if you want to receive grant money because once the money has been distributed, it's gone!!!
